The E169 Media Station, generally available as of 7 July, allows users to dock their own smart device (select iOS and Android phones and tablets) for exceptional audio quality and access to the most frequently used calling features while at their desk or from a remote location. It is purpose built for mobile and remote workers who use their mobile device more frequently than their traditional desk phone.

E169 Enables BYOD: Dock Your Own Device with Office Quality Sound

“The E169 Media Station allows Avaya to bring a new category of device to market, one that addresses the rapidly growing 'Bring Your Own Device' trend,” says Roger Toennis, Senior Product Manager for the new Media Station devices. “The response from our distributor and partner communities and our beta customers has been overwhelmingly positive. The E169 clearly demonstrates Avaya’s ability to innovate and deliver on the changing needs of the enterprise.”

It also can be a standalone SIP deskphone (with or without a smart device docked) or even a conference phone in an executive suite. The enterprise-class E169 uses standards-based SIP, and can be managed locally or remotely within the standard Avaya endpoint management architecture. It is compatible with both the Avaya Aura® and Avaya IP Office™ communications platforms.
